Barbara Richardson LLB (Hons)

Originally from Preston, Barbara obtained her LLB (Hons) degree in Nottingham, attended Chester College of Law and completed her training in Carlisle, qualifying as a solicitor in 1995 dealing with family law and crime. She moved to work in Lancaster in 1997 where she developed her expertise in family law becoming a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Accreditation Scheme when it began in 1999.

From 2005 Barbara successfully led a family law team in Kendal. Throughout her career Barbara has focused on family law. She supports her clients to focus on the future, achieving the best outcomes for them and their families.

Barbara returned to Lancaster, joining BBP in November 2017, to continue the development of our niche family law practice. She works full-time dealing exclusively with family law cases and has considerable experience of dealing with the resolution of financial issues on divorce. She is a Resolution accredited expert in Pensions on Divorce, Children Law and Complex Financial Property matters.

She is also an experienced collaborative lawyer used to working along with a collaborative colleague to help couples reach agreed solutions to their matrimonial problems in round table meetings.

Barbara lives near Kendal and has maintained links with friends and colleagues in Preston, Lancaster, Kendal and Carlisle. In her spare time she often meets up with family and friends and tries to visit her local gym in Kendal as often as she can so that she can keep up with the younger members of her family.
